Oak Farm Vineyardsby J. Nalani

KahaeCentered at the heart of Lodi, Oak Farm Vineyards is proud of its beautifully rich history. What began as an 1860’s “Elkhorn Township” ranch farm, the property was home to William and Cornelia DeVries. The DeVries’ love for oak trees has endured the test of time and the property’s dearly loved and well-known charm remains evident to this day.

It comes as no surprise that the vineyard draws guests from all around the nation. Guests venture in its direction to utilize the differing venues for their destination events; people come for weddings, reunions, benefits, corporate retreats and other such private celebrations.

Oak Farm Vineyards now belongs to the Panella family and brings to life their vision of a place celebrating “great wine, family and authentic friends.” Dan, Heather, Bob and Dorothy Panella all welcome visitors to see firsthand the ways that make their vineyard special. This place was designed to create memories and for the birth of new traditions.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a vineyard without wine. Currently, the vineyard offers several varietals including but certainly not limited to their Chardonnay, Vapor Trail, Grenache, Barbera and their award-winning 2012 Zinfandel.

Guests have an array of tasting options made available for their visit. While some may choose the convenience of the regular tasting room, others may opt for one of the two available private rooms. And for those interested in a more all-encompassing experience, joining one of the hour-long Historical Legacy Tours is a wonderful way to combine learning and wine tasting. Tour hosts provide interactive education about both Lodi’s and the estate’s history while walking the grounds and partaking in a full tasting flight. Tour-goers will be offered insight into the winery’s history while visiting the barrel rooms and finally ending the hour with a VIP room tasting.

Venue choices are plentiful for those searching for the perfect spot to host a special event. Their Historical Redwood Barn has remained a property trait for over 150 years. It has become a prime location with its rustic warmth and modernized space. The Great Lawn and Oak Tree area is especially popular for its vineyard and lakeside views. Finally, the Rose Garden Patio with Arbor is a stunning treat lined with roses, grape vines, bistro lights and vineyard views and is also conveniently situated between the Tasting Room and Historic Barn.

Whether it’s a peaceful getaway for a business event; just the right amount of privacy and stunning views to say “I do;” or if it’s simply a well-deserved treat for yourself and loved ones, Oak Farm Vineyards promises to be a delight to your spirit and to your palate.

Oak Farm Vineyards is open daily from 11am-5pm. Advanced reservations are needed for groups larger than 6. The Tasting Room is closed on all major holidays. For more information Oak Farm Vineyards 23627 Devries Road, Lodi (209) 365-6565,
