tasting roomAs the oldest operating winery in Lodi, Oak Ridge has over 80 years of experience creating fantastic wines in Northern California. Currently, it is owned by three families and produces wine under a wide variety of labels. In its early days, the winery was a winemaking co-op that combined the skills and grapes of all sorts of winemakers and vineyards for amazing tastes and wines. In 2002, when it was purchased by the families who currently own and operate it, the entire facility was modernized to make way for state of the art winemaking processes. The winery receives its grapes from over 500 acres of vines, some of which are nearly 100 years old creating a depth of flavor that’s hard to find anywhere else other than the Oak Ridge label. Today the winery has a wide range of brands that it works with including well known ones such as Old Soul, Three Girls, Moss Roxx and Lodi Estates. With such an extensive reach in the Lodi wine market, you probably already have an Oak Ridge favorite even if you don’t know it.

The Oak Ridge specialty is by far Zins. In fact, they are currently the largest grower of Zinfandel grapes in the banquet roomUnited States. Many of the wines made from their Zin varietals have gone on to win major awards for both unique flavor and affordability. A customer favorite is the Moss Roxx “Ancient Vine Zinfandel” which uses grapes from 125 year old vines. Their OZV “Old Vine Zinfandel” is also the number one selling Zinfandel priced between $10.00 and $14.00. Among their extensive selection of other wines, the 2011 Merlot won Silver in the California State Fair Wine Competition in 2014 which is just one of the hundreds of awards. They also carry award-winning Chardonnay, Cabernet, Pinot Noir, and so much more we could list wines for weeks. In the end, what makes their wines so delicious are the family grape growers and farmers in Lodi that have their work down to an art form. These wines have been recognized and sold internationally and locally with thousands of dedicated fans.

signThe tasting room at Oak Ridge is open 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. They are currently in the works of expanding the winery to have over 3 million gallons of holding capacity which represents just how large of a selection you can expect to find at their tasting room. The tasting room itself is one of the most beautiful in all of Lodi. Its vintage, upscale feel with mood lighting and comfortable seating sets it up to be the perfect location for weekend getaways, day trips, or dates with that special someone. Whether you’re a dedicated wino or you simply enjoy a glass occasionally, Oak Ridge could not be a more perfect place for you. Keep up to date with their frequent events on the website and be sure to stop by this spring for a glass of fantastic wine.
